Our website network as a whole is receiving a complete face-lift. This project is many years in the making and marks the point for which the rebuilding phase of the network truly begins. We’ve been dabbling and producing sites here and there for the past few years, but since our primary community topsitenet.com was disabled (6 years ago) production has been very slow. In the past week topsitenet.com has seen progress, the thought alone is ground-breaking. This site has a legacy and served a throughfare to ten’s of thousands of visitors a day in it’s prime.

This is truly an exciting time and in the coming month we should see major progress as far as our subsiderary sites are concerned. Blogs, stores, forums, arcades, wikis and so much more can be expected.

OBDSA has developed its own software “OBDSA Scantool “for real time diagnostics. Following are some of its main features.

It has been programmed to read both generic and manufacturer specific trouble codes for diagnostics.

The database of OBDSA Scantool has more than 3000 generic code definitions.

OBDSA Scantool has setting for clearing trouble codes and turning off Check Engine (MIL) light.

It displays sensor data in real time for a number of sensors including the following:

Engine RPM

Calculated Load Value

Coolant Temperature

Fuel System Status

Vehicle Speed

Short Term Fuel Trim

Long Term Fuel Trim

Intake Manifold Pressure

Timing Advance

Intake Air Temperature

Air Flow Rate

Absolute Throttle Position

Oxygen sensor voltages/associated short term fuel trims

Fuel System status

Fuel Pressure

Many others…

Let’s see how the OBDSA features and capabilities have been reviewed by experts as well as common users:

Capability to read both generic as well as specific diagnostic trouble codes has been found very useful as it provides a lot of diagnostic information, and helps in identifying faults.

Large database provides meanings of most of the trouble codes with definitions.

Clearing of trouble codes and turning off of the “Check Engine” (MIL) light helps in resetting the interface.

Most of the sensors are read by the software and all the required diagnostic data is available.

OBDSA Scantool is very user friendly, convenient and useful, and it can be used for most of the cars.

Reading of both generic and manufacture specific trouble codes and displaying corresponding descriptions of the trouble codes from the database helps in diagnosing the real problem in the vehicle.

It displays the current sensor data which involves information about temperature of your vehicle, vehicle speed, long term fuel trim, fuel system status, intake air temperature, fuel pressure rate, oxygen sensor voltages, Engine RPM etc.

Its data base has definitions of over 3000 generic codes, which helps any non technical person to easily use this software and run the diagnostic process.

GM Mode 22 is a scan tool application tailored specifically by GM. This works as a scan tool according to the specifications of OBD-II standard which specifies the functioning of scan tools. Mode 22 is used by this application to obtain general or extended PIDs. However, the extended PIDs included in the application are only specific to GM and include examples such as Ign Volts, Knock Retard, and EGR status. Some more keep on adding from time to time.

When you click on a specific PID shown in the interface, it will get enabled or disabled from the scan cycle, meaning it will either included or excluded from the scan to generate scan results. If you want to enable the tachometer and speedometers, you need to activate RPM and Speed in the interface.

As a standard 10 modes are defined in OBD-II, used by most of the scan tools but few other specific modes have been described by companies. Mode 22 is one of them specifically defined by SAE J2190 for Ford and GM companies. This mode is used for obtaining information which is not available in other modes.

The tool has been reviewed by users and experts and has been found to be very effective. GM Mode 22 Scan Tool’s mechanism has been designed to support all the OBD-II protocols. Moreover, it is guided by other compatible programs. The major protocols it can work with are SO15765-4 (CAN), ISO14230-4 (KWP2000), ISO9141-2, J1850 VPW, and J1850 PWM.

It has an operating voltage of 12 volts and has LED indicators for OBD and RS232 reception and transmission. It works smoothly without disruption in all the scans on different vehicles. It also has the capability to run at very high speeds and works with a battery voltage monitoring system to help notify and manage low voltage situations.

There are a number of customization options in the interface so that you can generate the display and the output as per your requirements. You can select the modes of operation and report outputs can be saved for future references.
