Pairing a Generic USB Bluetooth Adapter to Android Cell Phone

The information provided in this article can be used to install a Plug and Play Generic USB Bluetooth Adapter on your Windows 7 laptop or desktop computer and pair your mobile phone to it.

  1. Plug the adapter into your computer and allow Windows to install the device drivers.
  2. Open the Devices and Printers control panel and right click on the device ‘Bluetooth Radio’ (or similar) > ‘Bluetooth Settings’.
  3. Check the box to allow Discovery of your computer and click Apply.
  4. In the Android OS, from the home menu click the Menu button. Click Settings > Wireless & Networks > Check the ‘Bluetooth’ box and go to > Bluetooth Settings.
  5. From here, scan for devices and your computer should show up.
  6. Enter the Code ’0000′ and continue. Your computer should come up with a dialog box to enter the same code ’0000′.

That’s it! You’ve successfully paired your computer to your android mobile phone using a generic USB Bluetooth radio adapter.

To connect to your cell phone on your computer:

  1. From the Devices and Printers control panel right click on your phone and select ‘Connect Using’ > ‘ Access Point’.
